Message: Supercharger .. or turbo.
from what I hear, the Kenne Bell kit is pretty nice. they get you about 80hp and as much torque I think.
KRC just announced a set of cams ($599) and are taking orders for them. Not sure the gains there.
Do a search on the board for the 4.7L .. there's a lot of good suggestions here. For starters:
-remove clutch fan
-180 thermostat
-relocate IAT sensor
-high flow cat
-2.5 or 3" exhaust
-headers
-KB optimizer II flash or
-ASE chip
-home brew intake (with K&N cone filter)
-HO cams and intake (from Jeep Grand Cherokee)
-port/polish heads
Don't get the TB spacer.
Anyone else think of something I forgot?

Message: F&B or Fastman throttle body. Yeah skip the TBS and just get the throttle body.

Message: well i am not looking for anything major like you guys have suggested, just boltons things i can do myself that are not going to take hours to complete, such as supercharger or turbo, this is also a daily driver and i dont want to burn rings or anything with a supercharger plus i cant afford it, how much should i gain with headders a chip an intake, highflow cat and the thermo?

Message: oh yeah, forgot the TB.
Don't expect stellar gains without putting in the time and money.
Wild guess on your combo: + 20-30hp maybe. can anybody verify that?
Its a good combo, but definitely go with the Jeep HO cams too .. they're cheap and worth a REAL 15 hp kick in the pants.
If you're doing headers, you have to do the rest of the exhaust before you'll see any kind of gain.
removing the fan is about a 20 min. job, and its free .. good for a few hp anyhow
relocating the IAT sensor is also about 15 min. and also free and worth a few hp .. maybe 5hp.
And I can't really forsee any long term/drivability problems with a supercharger as mild as the Kenne Bell (only 5.7 psi I think).
hope that helps ya.

Message: You are not gonna get those kind of gains without some massive head work and every bolt on made for the 4.7L, including Cams, which are not bolt ons. I'd say anything over 300hp at the crank would involve some extensive porting and a major loss in a low end torque. It would really fly up high tho. I hope you have a 5spd, otherwise it seems like a waste of money to me. But I am biased. I'd just save up for Duner's Turbo kit.I did the cams myself but I have done a good bit of engine work in the past. I can post a link on it if you need it.
