Subject: ABS Controller Noise
IP: Logged

Message:
On my 1999 5.2L I've got a noise (very difficult to describe) coming from the ABS controller in my engine compartment (driver front fender). When I turn the key to the "ON" position and just as the fuel pump finishes its cycle (this is with the engine still off), the ABS controller makes a noise almost like belching with your mouth closed..or something like that, which lasts for about a second. It makes the noise just as the fuel pump finishes its cycle and is so consistent with the end of the cycle that I thought it had to do with the fuel pump. It then makes the same noise about a second or two after starting the engine. It happens every time without fail. The brakes work fine with no warning lights or anything (I have not done any power stops to test the ABS however). I can also feel the controller box vibrating when it makes the noise. Any idea as to what's going on here?? Thanks!
