Subject: wouldnt it be sneaky? IP: Logged
Message: replace my v8 emblems with v6!i've got nitrous on a 4.7.they would had to have their stereo on not to hear the exhaust, that would give it away.
what would be some other stealthy tricks?

Message: I shaved my V8 badges. I figured it would be funny since in the gen II years no badges ment 4 banger. THe best sneaky stuff is no outer mods. My only exterior mods are comp engineering slide-a-links and a fairly quiet flowmaster setup. Besides the small roadrunner sticker on the back glass I am pretty unobtrusive.

Message: Yeah, I can attest to that. DaveR's got one unassuming truck that really moves when he puts the hammer down. His Ram-Air setup is sweet too.

Message: My QC came without badges. My only visible mod is a Hanson bumper (or it will be when it arrives). No one thinks a 4x4 looks fast until it leaves them sitting somewhere. But my truck is destined to be faster....

Message: I doubt that you would fool to many people that would want to race you. The way I always figured it was if someone wants to race they must have more then they are showing. I have seen guys with big blocks in cars that were never equiped with big blocks and muffled to hell to keep them quite. Some quys even run street tire so as not to give it away. Station wagons are perfect for makeing sleepers so are imports and odd ball oldies like the Vega and Maveric. I knew a girl in High School that had a Maveric with a 460 under the hood. It was a very strong and well built 460. It sounded like a small block with bad points until you got on it. Sneaky is a Civic pushing 300HP. Sneaky is a little Toyota Starlet with a RX-7 Wankel turbo charged rotory engine under the hood. Shaved Dakota is just COOOOOOL. I already told the wife that when we repaint her truck all the emblems and decals are history!!! I think I will leave the door handles alone though. We live in a state with harsh winters and shaved doors are only for show cars. You realy can not count on actuators/solenoid in the winter.

Message: How about a 425 RWHP VW GTI with a turbo and nitrous. What a shock that was. The best way I have found for removing stickers is an eraser wheel. Takes the sticker off without bothering the paint or clear coat. After having a dealer sticker on my rear gate for 8 years I firured there might be some fade, but I was pleasently suprised.

Message: Synthetic Oil seems to make my engine run a little quieter. This would not draw attention to your vehicle. Wear a greyish-blue wig, thick glasses and move the seat as far forward as you can so you chin is over the steering wheel. Shave the V-8 stickers and replace em' with Yugo decals.

Message: yeah i would just shave them or leave them on. When i use to take my truck to the track everybody thought it was a RT.... even though i had V6 badges on, Sport stickers, no fender flares, and SLT wheels.

Message: mopar2ya, how the heII does synthetic oil quit down an exhaust system??????? do you use in on the muffler bearings?????? yeah baby gonna quiet down my flowmaster with 6 quarts of 20w50 amsoil racing oil!!!!! Do yeah think they will notice my brown beard with a blue wig either???? best way to fool them all put in a crate hemi with a very quiet exhaust system. knew a guy that had a 265 gm V-8 in a little chevy (come that way stock)about 20 years ago he replaced it with a 400 made out of the same block looked just like the original engine, even ran a stock exhaust in it. everyone that raced him could not figure out how a 265 could blow off moded stangs an camaros
