 Subject: coolant leak

I have a 99 4x4 with a 5.2 in it. I noticed a small puddle of antifreeze under it, adn after further invesigation have foudn the general area of the leak. My question is, how can I tell if it is the thermo housing gasket or the water pump that is leaking. It leaks whiel running, however it leaks the most after the motor is shut off and it is still warm, it will leak for 3-5 minutes then competely stop. Thanks for the help in advance
