Subject: 1999 5.9L swap IP: Logged
Message: I am faced with the wiring on a 1935 Dodge with a 1999 Dakota 5.9L. A wiring diagram scan would help a lot, otherwise some insight. Does the computer interact with the stock guage panel?I am concerned that the tranny is not original. Can this be a problem? Comp p/n56040150ad.
Thanks in advance,
Todd.

Message: there are at least 25 guys that can answer this better than i can, but my advice to you would be to grab a chiltons manual for late model full size dodges...itll have all chassis wiring, as well as any other possible diagram you could want for whatever donor vehicle that 5.9 came from...that should help you on your way...as far as the gauges, i was experimenting with hooking up my a/f gauge and n2o gauge into the dash for the 12v power, and to my surprise, found that its all pin connectors!!! so if youre worried about getting the dash to work with the pcm of that motor, i'd just put a full aftermarket gauge kit in (the all digital ones are cool, if thats not your style, autometer makes some cool 'old school' looking gauges
hope i helped a little bit
