Subject: disappointed in mr. transmission IP: Logged
Message: heres my situation, gentlemen...bought the trans-go shift kit for my 99 r/t....went to mr. transmission, had them install it, but when he handed me back the box, almost all of the parts were still in there!!! it shifts quicker, but i paid $200 for the kit, plus $200 for the install, and i would like to know what the deal is!!
also, when i asked him how much power my trans could safely hold, he said 'not much'....someone please respond to this, im sorta nerrrvous..

Message: Unless you disassembles the transmission, you don't use all the parts in the TransGo kit. You should have a few springs left over (three of which you don't use anyway - the kit is a universal kit and covers more than one transmission), some gaskets, blue and green seals, and (if it was included) a gold-ish plate and a few clips.
This is totally normal on just a shift kit installation. As for how much power it can handle...that would depend on the condition of the clutches/bands/seals, how much HP/TQ you're actually planning on running, and TQ converter.
