on my 95 5.2 i'll be just cruising along nice and easy and it'll miss a couple times and then it'll do it a few times and the check engine light comes on adn it kicks my transmission down a gear...and the other night it did that and the o/d off switch came on so it stayed in 3rd.....i put new spark plugs in it and it still does it ......can anybody help me on what it might be?

i dunno......should i take it and have a diagnostic test.....i was going to but most places charge you money....but i heard auto zone will run one for free.....but if the light goes on can they tell the last thing to make it come on or does the light have to be on when they do it

Autozone will read the codes for you. The light does not nee to be on to capture the code. It's stored in memory until erased. I just don't know how many their scanner can read. Real OBDII scanners can read whatever is in there.
