Not too loud: sounds really good. Loud enough to hear from a distance, but not obtrusive. No interior resonance like the Flowmasters, either. I have one on a 5.9 with equal-length headers and larger y-pipe, and it sounds great.

Message: Hey Konartis I got a 2001 RC R/T also and I got the Flowmaster 40 series but it may be loud for you cuz you can hear it in the cab, so you might go w/ what that one guy said. Oh and if you get tips don't get chrome cuz I got 3-1/2" chrome tips and they are rusting on the inside, plus another guy from this site his have already started rusting on the outside...so try to find stainless steel tips.

Message: What is a "dump"? I have some rusty chrome tailpipes and would rather have the exhaust hidden.
Please no smart remarks about "dump".

Message: A dumped exhaust is pretty much like you describe. It is hidden. No tips stick out from under the truck. A ot of people just put turn downs on the muffler exit for dumps. Mine is dumped after the axle. For mufflers, go Spintech. Spintech now offers cat back systems, but they all come with tips. One kit has a exit in front of passenger side tire if you ant that look. To hear diferent exhausts and to try and find what you might like, go to www.blackdakrt.com/mpegs.html he has at least 10 different exhaust mpegs in there. Mine is there as Brian Cropp's dumped Spintech. Mine is the 5441 model though, not 3441.

Message: I have a 99 cc 5.2 3.92 auto and I put gibson stainless split rear system w/borla square tips and it sounds mean it kinda sounds like it has headers when at idle but it's not overly loud or sound trashy like W.T. chevys. The reason I went with stainless is I live in Mn say no more snow salt ice!

Message: The viper should use the same rockers as the stock 5.2 and 5.9 just more of them. Maybe sombody put 1.6 mopar performance roller rockers in there but while these may be a common upgrade for the viper, the viper does not come from the factory with anything different then the stock 1.6 non-roller rockers.
I think the MBRP is the best exhaust with the Positive performance headers (AKA Mopar performance headers). These are not smog legal on the 2001 but can be made to work just fine try www.krcperfromance.com for the headers with 02 fittings added, and www.premier-automotive.net for MBRP systems.

Message: In opinions of exhaust, I have an 02 RC R/T and i removed my third cat and put a 3 inch pipe into a series 40 flowmaster dumped, i love it but then again i like it as loud as legal soooo it depends. It really has loud interior noise but like i said, i like that. For roller rockers, i put 1.7 Comp Cams Roller Rockers on mine and noticed an immediate difference. The torque was really noticeable and the new vavle covers look better anyway. Just my opinions!

Message: Ok well heres an idea why not buy something that eveyrone wants. A MBRP cat back exhaust, sounds killer and adds more perforance than a flowmaster. I'm thinking of true dual or this muffler.
