Subject: H.O. cams and intake manifold IP: Logged
Message: Hey all,
I was wondering if these mods are really worth it, and how much they might run. I know a person that works at a Jeep dealer so I may see how much they can get them for. But I was also wondering on how the install went, how hard it was, and how long it took.
Any replies are appreciated. Thanks.

Message: check the posts on the Performance forum .. then run a search on the subject. There's a ton of info on them.
In short: they're the best bang for the buck mod for the 4.7L (from what I've heard... I haven't done it yet though)

Message: i have the HO cams and they really helped the top end of the rpm band alot. It pulls till 6000 and beyond now. Havent seen a change in et though because of the hot a$$ weather and crappy track prep and alota spin on my launches.
Personally I dont think the HO Intake is worth it. I reccommend saving that money for a more aggresive aftermarket intake when they eventually come available.

Message: I doubt that will be developed anytime soon and it will be alot more than $150.

Message: I will set the record straight when I get my cams and intake in .. I'll install the cams, run it for a few hundred km's, then dyno it, and install the intake on the weekend, run it some more, and dyno it again on the Monday.
Once its done, I'll post the results cause I don't think anyone has every dyno'd it so how can you say its a waste of money or not?
I bet it'd make a huge difference if you were pushing more hp (i.e. more air). In a similar way, removing/replacing the cat makes the biggest difference on those pushing more hp (i.e. Duner, Matt Barret).
we'll see though. The proof is in the pudding.
And like CW said, can't go wrong for $150!

Message: If anyone else is interested in the intake and
cams, let me know. I think John at mydodgeparts.net will still let them go for the discounted prices.
