Message: bought my used dak almost a year ago and just
drove it on vacation(about 1500-2000 mi. give or
take). it's got under 70,000 mi and is a '99 5.2.
the problem is it seems to eat a lot of oil. 2
quarts on my trip. it also doesn't have much get
up and go either. getting up to highway speed
sounds like a diesel and i really have to put my
foot in it. drives fine around town. any advice
would be appreciated. i love this truck otherwise.

Message: Get it in to the dealer before the warranty is up or whatever it is it will be $$$.
Lots of oil..hows your compression? Is there a little puff of blue smoke when you start it up in the morning (valve seals)? PCV valve check, see if its working, it will rattle if working right.
Just something to get you started...

Message: Pull the air hat off open the butterflies on the throttle body and check for oil in the intake. This sounds like the infamous belly pan gasket leak. More information here http://www.speedtweaks.net/Tips_Tricks.htm
