Message: I have a 2000 Dakota, CC, 4.7L 4x4, and I love it. I have 108,000kms on it and now that the warranty is over, it's making strange noises. When I am accelerating there is a clanging sound coming from what seems to be under the truck, almost like a loose piece of metal stuck in some moving parts. Also, the truck vibrates almost all of the time, even when coasting with my foot off the gas, and especially at higher speeds. I don't race the truck, and rarely even drive it hard. I have done a cold air intake and dual exhaust, but I don't think those have anything to do with it.
Sorry for the long post, but I would appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thank you.

Message: Look under your truck and see if you see anything hanging off of it.
Also look at your U joint.

Message: Yeah, sounds like a U-joint to me. Might want to get them looked at, just in case. If one lets go you can cause some serious damage to the underside of the truck. (If it's the front one that lets go, you can even make the darned thing fly!)
