Subject: 2002 4.7 stalling on a dead run IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2002 dakota quad cab. last week while driving along at about 40 mph the motor died but started right back up. The check engine light came on so I took it to the dealer they found nothing. 4 days later it happened again except this time after it restarted the trans would not down shift. I shut the motor down and started it the check engine light went out and it is running fine. I went back to the dealer and again the found nothing. HELP!!!!

Message: Next time the engine light comes on, get the code(s) from your computer and define them online. Sounds like you have a pretty strange situation. These new motors/tranny's are so darned computer controlled these days. Let's just hope they aren't using Microsoft software to communicate. ; )
Good luck,

Message: I am not a Dodge Tech. but I would guess that you are either looking at a defective computer or a bad wire splice.

Message: Lynn, I hate to break it to you, but not only was your PCM manufactured by Compuke but DCX contracted Microsuck to write the code. In addition, Tandy Taiwan supplied the EEPROM and the rest of the components on the boards and Lucas supplied all the solenoids in your tranny and the windings for your injectors.
DUDE, YOU ARE SCREWED, YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A DELL!!!!!!

Message: AHH!! It's a cruel world out here. Time to do an in house custom build, and put UNIX on it.
HUH, then this engine with new UNIX program new cams and and ported heads, (less the MICROSLOP) should develope 425 hp naturaly asperated. COOL!!!
