Message: 01 4.7l running great decide to do 180 t-stat. I got a Stant Super stat 45358 as the store cross-ref sheets gave this number as the Stnat equal to the GT755-180 which is notavailable locally here is Seattle. First this Stnat looks nothing like my stock 195 the stock is huge next to this. I install take a drive overheats inside of two blocks. Ok I installed backwards I'm an idiot. Take out inspect , in correct. Go to store get a new one same thing!!!!!!! Arrrrg... very frustrated! I've re-used the stock gasket which is re=applied AROUND the t-stat right? I lined up the notch bleed the system. is it two bad stats in a row or am I doing something wrong?
TIA

Message: What do you mean, the stock T-stat is huge compared to the one you got? You mean the actual area the coolant can flow through is smaller?
