The rear end in my 2000 4.7 dak chatters off the line. The fluid was replaced by the dealer at 12k miles with synthetic. The truck now has 70k miles. Will new fluid help this out... Could they have forgotten the friction modifier for the LSD?
Also I got off the DML the quantities. WHat fluids work best. I was thinking Royal Purple since I can get that locally through a friend.

I would suspect that they forgot the additive. They forgot mine once, but it started chattering within 10 miles of driving. And didn't stop even after I put 2 bottles in (first didn't help). I had the money, and wanted new gears anyway, so I got 3.73's and nothing since.
