Message: I just got back my 2000 4.7 Dak from the dealer shop the other day. The truck was emitting the sulfer smell from the exhaust. So they replaced the O2 sensors and solved the problem. However, they also flashed my PCM (without my permission) with a software upgrade from TSB 18-001-01. After doing some searching on the internet, I am still in the dark about what the "engine performance enhancements" lobotomy is all about. The truck seems to have less punch, but that may be all in my parinoid head. So if anyone can tell me what TSB 18-001-01 did to my truck, I'd be thankful. By the way, for any other parinoid owners out there, I have the HO cams and intake manifold, and the dealer couldn't tell the difference, so your warranties are safe.

Message: MJR,
I have a post on the Perf. forum.
I'm thinking of just the cams, without the intake plenum. Could you see a difference why the plenum would be Worth it?
Thanks

Message: I installed the manifold because I got a good deal on it. The dealership I bought the cams from originally sent me two left cams, so I went back to get a right cam and they cut me a deal. I think the cams will be fine alone. They help alot down low in the powerband, such as backing trailers and such. On the downside (or not!), traction can be a problem now. Since I installed the two (cams/manifold) together, I couldn't really tell you what the intake maifold does.

Message: Thanks for the info, sorry, don't know what that upgrade is for.
