I have an 02 s/c 4.7 5 speed and i have an open diff.
What is the best and cheapest locker for my 9.25 axle with 3.55 gears?
I was hoping to install it myself so I dont want something thats going to require a mechanic.

Thanks for everything.
Dave

From what I've read here & there, you don't want to do the 'cheapest'. You want the smoothest, otherwise it'll drive you crazy, like a bad wife. Better not to have a bad locker.

Recommended: Power Trax No Slip.

Caveat: -haven't personally driven with one yet.

I have a PowerTrax NO Slip in my 01, CC, 4.7, 5 speed dakota. Unfortunately it is not as smooth as PowerTrax says. It is really rough in low RPM tight corner situations especially in parking lots. I hear it is much smoother in the automatic trucks because of the torque convertor.

It does work great in the rain and snow. Having both wheels locked together is great for traction.
The install is a fairly simple driveway job.
