Hello,

I want to start doing the some of my own maintenance, but I'm a newbie. Is there another place to get a shop manual besides going through a dealership? It seems the dealership would be the most expensive place to get one.

2002cc 4x4 sport 4.7.

Get the chilton or Haynes manual from any Autozone or O'relly part store. Personally I don't like them because is real general since it covers several engines and models but is the only thing you will find for less than $20. If you want a technical manual then you can find one at autotech.com for $60 I think. but for light maintenance the first mentioned would do.

Anyone have any idea what fanbelt is needed in order to by-pass the AC? Can't find info on it anywhere. AC siezed up with some fried bearings inside...I need to bypass it for trip home. Any suggestions?

So the a/c clutch won't let go?
If it will, just unplug the clutch connector at the compressor, so it won't try to turn the compressor when you use any defrost mode.

Sombody once postedthe short belt numbers bypassing the a/c, and the one's to bypass the PS and water pump, for dyno and track purposes.

might be a long search check though.

be careful with those ebays cd i found WHOLE sections of the shop manual missing, when they were referenced from other sections. The one that comes to mind had to do with the dash assembly.
