Yep, that dumped exauhst is awesome. It rumbles the earth, or seems to. I was alot happier with it once I chopped off those silly exauhst tips right over the rear axle. It hits me right in the chest the best with both doors open sitting inside the cab. It's almost defening. I have a single flowmaster 1 in dual out. and get tons of compliments on the sound.

heh, I got a friend with a '68 El Camino and another with a late '60s Camero (blown) that like to go cruising through the local parking garage and see how many they set off. The two of them together must be deafening in this place.

I'm pretty sure its the 60 series by Flowmaster. It was a custom job done at Meineke. The guy did an excellent job. It was all nice and pretty but I had to hack the tips off because they stuck out too far for the roll pan, hence dumped over the axle. and like I said I like it better this way. It also gives it kind of a sleeper appearance. You always know when you see a truck with fancy chrome exauhst tips comming out the back, that the guy has some after market mod. When you dump it, it just gives the truck the element of suprise, ya know?

I know what you mean. Ive considered dumping my exhaust. Now i have true dual exause w/ no muffler. I have two 3" chrome tips straigt out the back. I can say that my exhaust sounds good and does set off its share of car alarms, along with rattling my gas cap, and license plate.

Mine Glasspacks vibrate the hub caps off if I rev it up in park, I set atleast 3 or 4 alarms off every sunday at church. I like it!

No kidding on the tunnels man!! I have a fairly long tunnel right after a red light that I drive through going home from work and I always tear a$$ thru it in 2nd and 3rd gear just to hear it. Well sometimes I get these snobby old rich guys in Jags and Beamers who are in such a hurry to get somewhere, look over at me and punch it to get in front of me in my lane. I'm like ok dude what ever and I smoke em... OR, I'll get grama and grampa in the ole lincoln town car come up next to me so I fly past em and make em crap thier depends. Man, the looks I get in that truck, especially comming out of the tunnel.
What I meant about the element of suprise was like on the freeway and when you blow past someone theyre just like wow, little truck has some GO to it, and its loud.
Another thing I like to do is high rpm revdowns! I LOVE that sound when you clutch out in second at about 25 or 30 mph. You get that "scratch!" and a "bwwwwooooooommmmmmmm gurgle gurgle pop pop gurgle" as you coast to a stoplight. its awesome.

I know im on the wrong board, but i had a cop tell me the other day that he lovede the sound of my truck and said he didnt know they put a V8 in the Dak. I told him they do, but that mine was the V6. He nearly hit the floor. He said he thought it was an 8 and that it sounded really good. That was a huge compliment for me and it made my day. Oh, i have a 40 series deltaflow and a carsound cat coming out of 3 inch tips.

My exhaust has a leak right before the muffler that gives it a nice "pffft" sound. Damn do I got to fix that, it's horrible.
I get this odd boom-like sound when I shift at 5200, it's very odd. Not a pop, but a boomish sound. Anyone else have this?
That would be cool to have a cop tell you that, specially in the middle of being pulled over. By the way Texas97, you never mentioned how you started talking to the cop. Was someone going a lil too fast?

Xplikt, no, i wasnt getting pulled over. I have tried to cut down on that since like 3 in 8 months. I got a bird-dog now and it looks out for me. But anyways, the cop was gasing up his cruiser and I pulled passed the gas station on the street and went in the back, then came up beside him and pulled to the pump in front of him. He came over and just started a conversation with me about and was joking around with, asking about my configuration and pipe routing underneath. He was a really nice guy and it made my day with the compliments he gave me. At first I thought he was going to hassle me about it and try to give a nooise violation, but that was just me being paranoid. haha

haha.......yeah my truck sets them off too....i have a 97 dak....my exhaust is 3 inch pipe back to a 40 series flowmaster right under the passenger side cab....no turndowns it comes out rite of the muffler....the 3 inch gave a huge difference in sound...i love that truck
