I opened my HO cams and the shorter of the two has pretty major rust on the lobes, journals, and the tube (around the o-ring area).

What do i do? I'm supposed to install them next weekend and I ordered them from an out-of-state dealer!

I would take a little fine steel wool and WD40 and go over it very gently making sure not to score the surface. See if the rust is just very minimal surface rust or if it is more extencive.

Do the tubes matter? I think the lobes & journals will clean up okay.... I'll have to look again tonite. I may e-mail you a digital photo and let you look up close......

Mine were the exact same way. It's not going to affect anything, but it's still a good idea to clean it up anyway (just in case).

I just got some #0000 steel wool at the hardware store. We'll see what happens. Thanks for the help.
