4.7....5.9....I have a question. According to a friend, IF dodge put the 5.7 HEMI in its dakota...would it be a better, more powerful, or more upgradable engine then the 5.9? According to a friend,no way...5.7 is not as good as 5.9.I think he's full of it. I know dodge just got the 5.7 out on market not to long ago so maybe not as many aftermarket parts, as compared to the 5.9, but which do you guys think has more potential? OH...also...how many words did i misspell in this post?HAHA

I'm still laughing over the 300hp from doing 3 little mods. Without doing anything else but those 3, you'd get maybe a high of 280hp, and I'm just makin up numbers for each part. 300hp is a little much for 3 tiny mods. Maybe if you had other stuff in there it'd be more believeable.

Hey, very interesting topic with lots of good info, now that we are almost into 2k4, we have the 4.7L, 5.7L Hemi (is just a marketing ploy or is it better?) and the trusty 5.9L, now my question is more about the engines then the Daks, I am wanting to build a tuner engine to put into a highly modified and much smaller application then a the under belly of a dak. I have the fabrication being worked out, but which engine would be best for max RWHP/TQ? I am basically trying to build a modern day street rod with FI, sleek look and not just another flippin stang/cam, (its a 2k1 Neon, like I said HIGHLY modified, so just keep the cat calls and flames down here =P this is just for engine knowledge) I know it would be easist to fit the 4.7L obviously, but the entire front end is being ripped appart and reworked (obviosly) no A/C, PSteering, etc, very stripped down, Engine, mods and PCM. So just pretend that we got it sitting on a blank frame and just building it to peak perform, probly going to run dak r/t rear, unless better suggestions.
