would 92-93 5.2 exhaust manifolds fit on a 1991 5.2? i havent been able to find any headers for my specific truck. did the exhaust ports change at all with the magnum heads?

The exhaust ports are different. The only choice you have for headers (new)that I know of are Hooker super comps(full length). Mopar use to make a set of shorty headers but they have been discontinued. I have a set of the mopar shorties that are discontinued. Used about 2 years. I'd take 100 shipped for them. You can email me off the list if your interested. It might take me a day or two to get back with you we are going to the track this weekend.

Any of the '92 and up Magnum exhaust manifolds will bolt right up and look like they were born there. (Personal experience here-'89 Dakota with 360 Magnum and Magnum exhaust, so it'll fit the chassis as well). The exhaust ports were changed, but this is minimal on an external aspect (most of the change was made in the exhaust floor). The only snag would be if you were going to continue using the air injection system. The pre-Magnum system is different, but I'm sure it wouldn't be very difficult to adapt.

Yep. Your only issue would be chassis clearance. If you're good there, you got it made.

There will also be no way your smog(air)pump can hook up too those headers. You can eliminate the smog pump, like I did on my 91, but depending on where you live that might not be smog legal. The discontinued Mopar headers are the only ones I know of that are (true) bolt on models.

when you removed the air pump, how did you run the belt past the tensioner? and what did you do with the hoses that ran to the pump? did it affect your engine at all?

I got a pulley from the junkyard off a magnum motor that is ribbed rather than smooth. I did away with my a/c also. I could give you the belt part# from autozone if you'd like. As for all the lines ,I just capped them off. The truck ran great after this was done(never even got a check engine light). Now of course the engine is carburated and has edelbrock heads but it ran fine after the air pump was removed. If you have more questions you can email off the list at

The early 360 Magnums still used an air injection pump, but instead of the pre-Magnum method, the air was injected at the cat. If you needed to, you could simply route your air pump in a similar fashion. This would eliminate any need for air-injection at the manifolds.

is there any down side to strightpiping my truck. today i cut off everything from the cat back and replaced it with a 2ft peice of 2.5" tubing. i have a glasspack for it but i didn't put it on because i like the sound w/o it. will it hurt my engine and will there be enough backpressure without a muffler?
