Sometimes when I am doing normal city driving, under normal acceleration it seems to shift funny, not all the time, just sometimes.

But the main reason I started this thread, I am having a problem with the shifting under heavy (full) acceleration from a complete stop (like a race). When the truck gets ready to shift out of first gear and into second, it hesitates, like the RPMs go all the way up, then drop a couple hundred RPMs, then it shifts... almost as if it were a rev limiter (is there such thing? and if so, at how much?)

What do you guys think it could be? Possible fixes?

ya.. i had the same problem, i took me 01 SC R/T to dodge, and they fixed it. I think i was the Valve body in the trans.. It was not shifting when i was getting on it. like 2nd or 3rd. It will just hit the rev limiter.. SO take it up there ASAP...

Sounds like you need to adjust the TV cable. This cable provides the transmission with feedback from the throttle. Check speedtweaks web site for instructions on adjusting it. You might also opt for a tranny service... couldn't hurt!

You might want to consider tightening the transmission bands. I was facing the same problem and I replaced the transmission filter and adjusted the bands at the same time. Works great now.
