Message: I finally got the nerve to try the lil key trick to pass the speed limiter last night! for those of you who are skeptical or cautioned away from this, it really did work! trust me, it wasnt the greatest feeling turning that key, fearing it would ruin everything, but it worked out great! 120 was mine, but passing an 18wheeler at that speed on a two lane highway is a lil scary, so i backed down!!

Message: no problem. this infamous trick has been posted numerous times, all you have to do is turn the ignition to the start position, like you are cranking up your truck to start it, while hitting the govenor(speed limiter). the speedo goes back down to 0 and your radio shuts off, i believe (i had mine off anyway), and it will bypass the speed limiter. no more stopping at 113!!

Message: Could you please go through that one more time
how do you hit the speed limiter and have it in the start position at the same time. Or are
you saying to drive the truck to 98 then kill it
then go back to the start position. Please
elaborate.
Thanks

Message: So you are saying to do this while traveling at 98 mph when the speed limiter kicks in on my 2 k dak, 4.7? and then i can go up to 110 or better? And if i turn key like i am starting it, wont the starter engage? it should, I am lost on this, Sorry.

Message: Its very simple! When you are approaching your speed limiter either 100 0r 113 whichever you have you turn your key to the start position.this will not engage the starter there is a bypass for that when you turn the key to start you lose all interior power but you truck keeps on going!
Quit being such a p**S and just do it!

Message: My r/t governs (limits) at 113mph. I think he did a fine job saying how to do it. All you have to do i turn the key forward, as if you were starting your truck, while hitting the limiter. I tried it at a 40mph roll near my house, just incase if it was gonna break something, then went out to the closest highway. 120 mph is my guess, when i let go of the key, and the speedo came back on, thats about where the needle was at...

Message: you mean you have to keep the key forward while you do this and not release key back, until you want to slow down, so at 113 mph or so you need to steer with one hand on the wheel, and the other on the key with it in the start position,?

Message: had my 2002 4x4 cc 4.7L up to 110mph 3 weeks after I bought it, that's fast enough for a 4x4. An r/t or car is a whole different story. careful guys, you may think your doing alright, until a moron wants to play games with you, or you get a blowout. Not trying to lecture, just wantcha to think about it a little

Message: well, i tried it. But, don't think i'll do it again until I get the flash. I think by doing that you put the PCM in limp in mode, I may be wrong. Think about it though when you do it the gauge lights come on just like at initial startup, in my case when I did it my truck felt weird, didn't seem like it was running normal, it was still pulling though. Don't get me wrong I didn't get scared and let off or anything, my sebring won't shut off, so that wasn't the case. I tried to see if it had a limter and N/A. I got to 132 before I let off.
