Subject: 4.7L IAT questions. IP: Logged
Message: I never seen or heard of an IAT before I found this website. Can someone tell me where I can find it on my manifold? My truck is the 2000 4.7L sport. Also when adjusting the voltage on the TPS what do you turn is there some kind of knob or what? Thanks for your help.

Message: it's on the driver side on top of the intake manifold aft of the throtle body. you turn the sensor itself left or right to get .70 volts with key on engine off.

Message: I assume by drilling the brass inserts out of the IAT you have a bit of slop, and the slop is needed to turn the IAT right or left to adjust it. Am I right?

Message: IAT? You guys sound like your talking about the TPS mod...IAT is a intake air temperature sensor that can not be adjusted to my knowledge. It can be repositioned to a place where it draws colder air. The Throttle Position Sensor can be drilled out and slightly adjusted to give better tip in response from idle.

Message: I mixed the two items up. I was referring to the tps. I was trying to figure out how you adjust it. My guess is, by drilling the brass inserts out you have a bit of play in the holes which allows the tps to be twisted side to side to change the voltage. I won't do the mod unless I'm sure I know what I'm doing.
Thanks again Bill,
