Subject: How do I get back power? IP: Logged
Message: I took everything off rear of the cat today, and have lost some power. What would I do to get it back? Would a flowmaster make any real difference as far as getting back some torque?

Message: You lost back pressure by removing everything. Modern engines need that back pressure to make power, unless you are SC or Turbo'd. I have a high flow cat on my dak and lost some power in the low end. Just waiting to hit the lottery to SC mine. And solid axle. And Cam. And...

Message: You have to run a tail pipe to get torque out of the newer dodge engines. If this is a 4.7 run a 2 1/2" or 3" chambered muffler(flowmaster)if its a 5.2 or 5.9 run a 3" flow through(Dynomax ultra-flow).Intake mods should be done before a free flowing exhaust.A ported TB and a K&N air intake will help the low end and pull better at high rpms.
