A 360.
For $1,185 I can get a mag 360 from http://www.jimsautoparts.com/engineassy.htm
So instead of modifying my 318 why not drop that in and modify it. If you have read a few of my posts you would see I have been getting info on off roading mods and preformance mods. So I finally found one that benefits both quite well.
On top of the engine all I need is a new fly wheel and PCM. And I may as well do the clutch at the same time. Or at least thats what I got from several hours with the search function.
Looks like a fun way to mod my 97 4x4. With a 318..for now.
Also there was some concern about the NV-3500 being able to handle the engine. But looking at the charts from a 2001 Ram info book from Dodge its only a 35 ft-lbs increase in tq. And 15 in HP. Which I could do with a few mods on the 318. So is the tranny trouble not a worthwhile point?

You will need a 360 harmonic balance as well. Did the mod a few months ago.

How long did it take you?
What did all the extra stuff (stuff besides the engine) cost you?
Are you smiling as much after the swap as I am now thinking about it?
