Hey guys,
I've heard of a lot of different PCM flashes. Which is the best bang for the Buck? I'm leaning towards the Kenne Bell Optimizer II right now but what else is out there?

Also, has anyone been able to get a hold of a Mopar Performance PCM for the 4.7L. I've got the P/N (straight from the mopar website) but no dealerships seem to register it as valid.

If you have a 2000, then the best flash is Leach.

they released the part number and then did not release the part. It never passed the CARB tests and so you cannot buy one.

Because KRC is just going to send it to Leach and then charge you the same $$ and ASE and Kenne Bell dont' totally remove the speed limiter. But Leach can't modify the 2001 and 2002 boxes, so you'd be better off with the Leach flash. They raise the speed limiter to 255 mph, bump the base timing up to 29 degrees, allow you to set the cruise control all the way up to 110 mph, program the A/C to cut out for 10 seconds when you floor it, and then modify the fuel curve to work better with all the new timing. All that for $400 plus shipping.
That's why Leach is the best.

thanks alex, that's what I was looking for.
other than the speed limiter, does ASE and Kenne Belle do the same thing as Leach?
How about for Supercharged applications? (I was thinking of getting the KB sometime down the road)
Would I have to re-flash it?

Leach is the shop that developed the original software for the DOdge Dakota. He
s been doing what ASE & KB are just now starting to do, but he's been doing it longer and better.
If you are going to supercharge anytime soon, then the timing advance is a waste of time. You will need to retard the timing to run forced induction. But if you are not sure, I'd just go ahead and get the flash.

would the flash have been a waste of money,
or could I have the pcm redone???? excuse
my ignorance, but I wasted my money on a jet
chip, and dont want to do it again.

Leach is the one that programmed the Mopar PCM for the 4.7. They program all the Mopar PCMs. They do a lot of work for Dodge. The Mopar PCM for the 4.7 did pass the CARB test, but not buy much. You can have Leach program your PCM with the same program as in the Mopar one.
Leach is the only way to go. Leach does not have a website.

Well, actually Leach cannot hack the 2001 or 2002 PCM's and therefore, you 01 and 02 guys will have to find a different company.
If you are going to get the KB supercharger, I'd call KB and ask about what you should do in the short term. Somebody here (conig?) is already running just the KB Optimizer2. I think they like it.
