Subject: Poppig noise when braking IP: Logged
Message: I have a '99 SLT, cc, 4x4, 318 auto.
Everytime I brake to come to a stop, I hear a popping noise in the front end and sometimes when I start driving again, I hear it again. WTF?
thanks

Message: I know the problem! It took the dealer 18 hours to find and fix the problem! Those bizzos tried charging me for other estimated stuff i asked about before but dint have done. He just bitched at me about how long it took and he should atleast charge me something. I complained and won!
Anyway, It is a cross member behind the skid plate. The bolts come loose. They put some lock-tight on the bolts. Maybe some lock washers. (I am not sure about that one)
Spend $2.50 on a tube of lock-tite. Save a $165.00 dealer bill!!!

Message: LOL actually have that noise in the rear. Maybe I should take it in to get checked out. I thought they were normal sounds of the diff locking, but I guess I was wrong sense you guys are having trouble.
