It has become painfully obvious that my truck is limited to 100mph or lower. I know that its capable of going faster and I need a suggestion on how to remove the speed govenor!

You would need a custom flash for your PCM to move the speed limiter to a higher MPH. B & G, Mike Leach, and i think Kenne Bell does the flashes with a signed waiver of consent.

Try turning the key to the start position just before you hit the limiter and hold it there. Your speedo should stop working but you should still accelerate. Might not work for your year truck but I think it works for 97-02. Its by no means a proper solution but its still neat to know.

I have done that before, yes it dose work, but you loose speed when you do it, I was racing a slivy on the highway, Mine didnt use to have a gov. but after my crash it tends to die down sometimes, It usualy comes on at 120.

In 1/2001 I got rear ended by a hit and run driver. I chased his ass all over Katy Texas hitting speeds of up to 112 MPH when my speed limiter kicked in. His Lexus didn't have a speed limiter or if it did it was much higher.
That really pissed me off that I couldn't go any faster. Well since then I've got the B&G flash with the speed limiter raised to 135 MPH (so I've been told).
However, the fastest I've had my truck in the last 1.5 years is 95 MPH and that was at the drag strip!!!
I don't drive that fast on the street. I can't afford it and its too dangerous.
But... the next SOB that does a "hit and run" on me better watch out!!
By the way, the guy that hit me couldn't out run my cell phone and the 12 Katy Texas police units that caught him and threw him in jail for 45 days.

I was cruiseing along I95 a few years ago in a 2wd Toyota at about 100MPH when a Lexus LS400 and and a 5 series BMW came shooting past me like I was draggin and anchor. They had to have been going 150 MPH. So you would have still had a hard time catching him if he kept pushing. Getting his liscense plate number would have helped alot though!
