Hey Ian, I been trying to figure this one out too. Dan from Fastman has a theory ... he thinks that it might have to do the "degreeing of the cam". Since no 2 motors are exactly the same, that could be the reason that some are getting the vibration and some are not. I'm thinking that the vibration has always been there, but is just amplified by the larger air flow. I'm very curious to know if anyone has tried "degreeing a cam in" and what the results where, if any. If I can find someone that has a degreeing kit that I can borrow, I think it might be worth a try. Really don't want to pay $130+ for a kit I'll only use once.

Personally, this theory is one that sounds reasonable to me. Every other theory or "fix" that I've read about on here only works some of the people some of the time.

Anyone else agree or disagree with this theory?

Just curious, is Fastman still around? The site was last modified Jan. 15, 2003 and they never returned an e-mail I sent a few weeks ago.

4x4x4dr...I think you're definitely on the right track...when I first had my h.o. cams installed I felt the pedal vibration ever so slightly, just barely enough to notice, this would suggest the different degreeing of the cam may have caused this...then when I put the fastman tb on, the pedal vibration became unbearable and I have since removed it. However, I really miss the performance, I think the h.o. cam and tb combo is superb, I really would like to solve this problem and get another tb. Keep the updates coming.

I purchased a 03 4.7 liter QC 4X4 the other day and I also noticed immediately the vibration coming from the gas pedal. Since it is brand spanking new I would guess that it could be because of resonance from the exhuast. I am curious as to what it could be? Has anybody heard anything else about this issue?

No solution yet, but the more I hear and read about this, the more I think that cam degreeing is the solution. It is the ONLY thing that is consistent besides the fact that we all have 4.7L motors. Some guys like Cruiser5150 have the problem with straight stock, some guys have it with just the HO cams, a lot of guys have it with just the aftermarket TBs and some guys have it with other combinations.

Ian ... I'll keep you posted if I find someone who has a degreeing kit and I get these cams degreed in.

Johnny ... I'm fairly certain that Fastman is still around. I swapped email with him about a month ago. I know that he goes on trips quite often, so that may be where he is at. I'd suggest trying to call him. He might be having problems with his email or something.

Unfortunately, I never found anyone with a degreeing kit that I could borrow, so the vibration is still there. I'm really surprised that no one else has figured out what is causing it. Hopefully someday soon someone will find a solution for all of us.

yeah vibration in the gas pedal..
in my case it was like a buzzing.

throttle cable was laying against a bracket on the motor...thus transmitting engine vibe.

I wrapped the cable with soft foam...no more vibe.

Was the buzzing only at certain RPMs or was it all the time? Mine seems to be the worst @ 2500-4000 rpms.

more noticeable at higher rpm.
just check and see if your throttle cable is against the motor anywhere...if you can't move it then wrap something around it.

You guys are running aftermarket colds kits I bet.

If so, the problem is due to the intake manifold design--- there's a sin wave that it creates, and it runs against the intake back towards the airfilter. The stock 'airhat' has sound cancelling ports in them---

If you running a larger TB, the vibe is more pronounced than with the a stocker---

Rtdkota-Again,I was running the stock airbox when I had the fastman tb and still had a terrible vibration, I too thought it had to do with the intake manifold design, I thought if I switched over to the h.o. intake that would solve it but before I did I read one of these posts someone who had the h.o. intake still had the vibe, go figure?
