Subject: My Cat Rattles IP: Logged
Message: it sounds like someone gutted my cat and threw a crushed pop can in it, drivin down the street today, all the sudden it sounded like my whole exhaust was draggin behind me. Sure keeps people from tailgaiting though, maybe i'll keep it the way it is

Is it still under warranty? If not, prime time for a nice freeflowing aftermarket unit.

Message: my cat used to sound like it had something loose inside, a random rattling. that lasted about a week, now it's a rythmic rapping noise. It's almost if the entire catalyst body is slapping back and forth inside the case. At idle it's quiet but the harder I press the gas the louder it gets. I thought about gutting it but I noticed there are oxygen sensors before and after the cat, wouldn't the second sensor give false readings and effect the engine computer??
by the way, my factory manual states that if the converter fails it, and the Y-pipe, must be replaced as a unit(they're welded together). are there any shops/companies offering a mandrel bent Y-pipe/high flow cat kit??
