The 4.7L is still a combustion engine with a cast iron block and two cast aluminum cylinder heads. Not all Aluminum. They just moved some parts around. Now if it was Fusion engine or something then you can call the 5.9L old tech.

There is a reason why it's been around 20 years, because their was no need to change it. It was proven. The new 4.7L was introduced for emission reason while trying to increase fuel efficiency that the government has implemented for vehicles
Justin, If you want them to fix your Transmission due to it not shifting, why not adjust your TV cable to the point it will not shift every time, or just put your transmission in neutral then rev the engine up to 1300rpm's and engage it into drive. DO this a few time and your bound to have a lot more transmission problems. Just don't do 3000 or higher RPMS, that might destroy quite a bit more components let alone seeing that on the Computer read out.

By the by, adding moth balls (Napthalene) to your gasoline will actually increase your octane rating. The napthalene when mixed with gas, bonds more oxygen molecules to it. So when this mixtures is ignited you get a more explosive reaction. Something like nitrous oxide. I don't know how many moth balls to a tank or anything though. Just FYI.

Yes, naphthalene to your gas will increase your octane rating in your gasoline, but the effects are minimal and not worth the risk. It is nothing like nitrous oxide.
Some of the additives and imitation moth balls will form hydrochloric acid upon combustion in the engine.
You can guess what hydrochloric acid will do to your engine?

I thought higher octane ratings meant your gas was less explosive but more stable. Thus you would have less power. Unless you run a force induction system that takes advantage of a more stable fuel to increase boot pressure.

Try NITROMETHANE
40 per cent nitromethane mixture by comparison with petrol we now have four times as much fuel required by the engine.
At 80 per cent mixture the fuel flow rate has be-come three times the rate and therefore six times greater than petrol, hence the need to check the fuel pump and fuel lines to make quite certain they can cope with this requirement.
DANGERS
Now, as before, it is necessary to know the dangers involved with the use of nitromethane mixtures so
that the necessary precautions can be taken and understood, reducing them to a degree that makes the use of such fuels acceptable under the circumstances in which we normally operate.
Provided you know the dangers you can work with these fuels and come to no harm, but if you do not, then it is possible through lack of simple precautions to suffer, so bear them in mind at all times.
After combustion, mixtures containing nitromethane exhaust relatively large amounts of nitric acid in vapor form, making the use of a proper gas mask essential by the driver, and for those close to the car in the start area.
The reason for this is that nitric acid, when inhaled, causes a muscular reaction making it impossible to breathe.
Little imagination is required to see the dangers involved with this possible event taking place, and in fact there have been cases of drivers becoming almost unconscious due to the bad fitting of face masks.

When you take it to the dealership, Can they see what you been doing? if they hook it up to a computer can they see if you been ragging it out?if so how do you clear the memory for they can not see it?
