I just talked to the mechanic a few minutes ago. It's the flew-plate!! Much cheaper.
He said the worst case senario is he may have to drop the tranny to get to it. I'm a lot happier now!

It turned out that the tourque convertor had lost a bolt. The Mechanic just welded it back together. It only sounded like the motor was knocking.
