Subject: Mudflaps or NO. IP: Logged
Message: I just recently purchased a new Dodge Dakota Sport Plus club cab V-8, with the big tire package and the fender flares. My question is to get some ideas on whether to put on mud flaps or not. There are no other factory holes in the fender besides those for the flares and I don't want to drill any holes if I don't need to.I would like to get some feed back on what you think about putting mudflaps on.
Thanks
Brian

You do have to drill additional holes to install, in the front into the flare and plastic wheel well and in the back one hole in the metal fender flange. they look great and help protect against stone chips.

Message: I could take some pictures of mine, but think it was an improvement just because of how much less crap I find kicked up on the side of my bed. I'm sure the 4x4 guys like the look of mud dripping down the side of thier truck ;) but not me.
They are like $35 a pair I think and custom fit with the fender flares nicely. You only need to drill like two holes, the other screws use the factor ones in the flares. The tires/flare package on this truck is pretty aggressive (read: wide) for stock vehicle to me. This is one of 1st vehicles I've owned that actually looks good with the stock wheels/tires, they seemed to be as wide as the flares. Must be that "cab forward" Dodge design with the wheels pushed to the furthest edges.

I think they look kick-a$$ but other say no.
I do have pictures of them on my web site.

Only reason i got them was for all the off-roading I do I don;t want to kick up a rock and damage my bed or scratch the paint.

I like how they look and they do a fine job keeping tar off my paint.
