Subject: loud 4.7 IP: Logged
Message: Well I always change my oil myself, but
unfortunately I was on the road, and went to Jiffy
Lube. They put too much oil in (incidentally my
4.7 takes 5.5 quarts not 6 as the manual says).
Soon afterward, the engine started sounding
louder, and has since. It is not revving higher,
and it is not an exhaust leak type of sound, just
like normal in-cab engine noise but louder, any

Huh? All 4.7Ls I've seen take 6. This does include filter however. Check the magical dipstick, it knows all!
Kinda weird that the sound changed, heh, it doesn't happen to sound _better_, does it?

Message: I put in 6 quarts. It is not any louder, but the oil pressure gauge reads a little higher than when I got it. But its a moron gauge anyway. Need to get my autometer OP gauge in.

Message: Yea, my OP gauge always reads a little on the high side unless I'm idling., then it reads good. Yall pardon the typing, its hard with a broken finger.
