Subject: removing the speed limit on the R/T IP: Logged
Message: Of couse this question had to follow ;-)
How can I remove the speed limit at about 185 KPH? Does the MOPAR engine controller remove the limit and btw do you recommend the MOPAR engine controller?

Message: Tim,
I couldn't get the speed limiter removed but I did get it moved to 220 kph. I had kenne bell in California do it for me. It increased horse power and throttle response. Find out if they do the R/T PCM by e-mailing Mr. Victor Cruz at kennebell@kennebell.net .
I know Diamler Chrysler sells an after market PCM but I don't Know if it raises the speed limiter.
You can see the Pics of mine and one of the speedo at:

Message: If you have the Mopar Performance PCM it has no speed limiter. You can go as fast as you want...weeeee :) Unfortunately I have the Kenne Bell, speed limiter of 135mph. Doh!
P.S. Gusts of wind suck at 130mph!!!

Message: I order the Mopar PCM anyway but if it hasn't set a speed limit, it would be perfect for the autobahn.
Lets frighten some mid class sedans ;-)

Message: They don't make a mopar pcm upgrade for the 4.7L. But a couple places will reprogram them (flash them) One is Leach, now I've heard Leach has stopped for some odd reason, and Kenne Bell. I know Bell is still in the business.
kennebell@kennebell.net
E-mail Mr. Cruz and get some info.
the only disadvantage of the flash for a limited pocket book is it requires 91 min octane. Now I've seen posts here where guys say they use 87 octane, but I wouldn,t use 87 octane in my lawn mower, stock. I'm a firm believer if ya can't afford the right gas ya can't afford to drive. I drove a Fuel tanker for 4 years, you spend that much time around refineries and gas stations and you learn a lot about gas.

Message: Dakota Kidd,
I suggest don't do it. I bought one before I did the research, and now it sets on my desk here at work as a paper weight. (a very expensive one I might add) It did Nothing I could tell except make my truck faster by taking the extra weight out of my pocket.
