Who makes a good manual for tuning up a 2000 4.7L Dakota? I have looked through the Haynes line of manuals and not seen anything for the 2000 year yet. Haven't visited the Chilton manuals yet but thats next. Mine is starting to run like its been dogged nonstop for years. Would like a nice tuneup list to follow.

The only one I found was by Chilton's. It says it covers up to 2000 so I'm not sure if it covers all of the big changes that came about in 2000.
The other option is to buy that big dakota bible from the dealer. Runs around $100+, though.

Not much to do on the 4.7 for a tune up. New spark plugs like Autolite # 5224, gap at .040, Aircleaner element replace or clean, remove TB and clean. Install a 180 T stat. change oil and filter. If you have alot of mileage 25-40,000, replace the PCV valve, dealer item only at this time around 12.00.
