Someone never heard of "broadies"....

I'm an old guy (42) from the south coast of Oregon...

Terminology has changed over the years...

Ever hear of "motate"?

Hey Dave- I know what a 'broadie' is, and I've heard of 'motate' also. 'Motate you maggot'....that seems familiar! LOL!
Where you at on the coast? I'm over in Grants Pass.

the 4.7 is a decent engine but if you compare it to the toyota 4.7 or audi 4.2 its a POS

Not a POS. It looks like it may be a long runner just like the 318's. There are not that many people complaining about the engine.
At 100k + them engine cyclinder and bottom ends are looking like new!!!

Now you want to talk about noise, look at the Chevy Piston Slap.

The chevy piston slap did no harm and is now old news the newer 4.8 and 5.3 no longer have that piston slap.

Well like I am saying, not enough people have problems with the Dodge 4.7 to say it is bad at all. I know someone getting over 500 HP out of the stock engine reliably under boost so it can't be all bad.
I'm building a street/strip car right now which will feature the 4.7 since it is ahead of the game compared to the old engines.

I know a guy with a 6.0 Chevy. Said they could never fix the slap. But he says it doesn't harm how it runs. He just hates it slapping at start up.

If I park my truck backed uphill in my driveway and don't drive it for a few days I get noisy lifters that pumped down for a few seconds. Doesn't bother me.

Below the cam lobes - with the OHC design, I think they're called lash adjusters, but act pretty much like lifters.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way
