I finaly broke down and sent in money to KRC for a set of HO cams and the tool.....anything special i should know about break-in....oil type etc? also i sent MO in on thursday....after he rec's it how long to you think i get them....

I am swaping my cams tomorrow. Going to run them for about 20 min., and nice and easy for the first 200 miles, maybe...got to see what she can do. Due for an oil change anyway...after the swap. I am going from the 5W-30 to 10W-30 Mobil 1 Synthetic for the summer and fall. You'll need some good assembly lube, in/lb and ft/lb torque wrenches, and a spanner wrench or someone to assist you.
As for a time-frame for receiving your cams, I got mine in a week. But know that KRC is really just Marty, so don't get worried if it takes a little longer for him to get you your parts.
Otherwise, I would say for you to go ahead and start reading up on the swap instructions at speedtweaks.net under "tips and tricks".
I'll let you know of anything I encounter with my swap.

I can leave in my freash mobil1 syn 10-30 change i just did? i heard to use assem lube then change the oild after 200 miles....and then i could start giving it some heavy gas.

How many miles do you have on your oil now? I am going to change the oil out on Sunday, not after the 200 miles. The 200 miles is really just a suggestion, easier on the components. After that, give her the gas. If your oil is new, I wouldn't worry about it. I've never had any problems.

i only have about 800 miles on my new syn oil change......but i thought it was a good rule to change oil after new cam breakin?

Yes, after...leave it in for the 200-500 break in miles and then change the oil and filter.

With the roller design there really is no break in at all. Just change your oil as you would normaly.

CW I just got my cams in the mail...the journal is oxidized with light rust...do i need to have them polished or will it not matter?

As long as thew rust is not visably pitted then just touch it up with some fine steel wool.
