Everyone:

I have narrowed my replacement tires down to 2 brands.

Nitto NT-450 Extreme Performance (275/50R-17 110V)
and the
Falken Ziex S/TZ-01 (P275/50R-17 106H B)

The Nitto says a tread wear of 300A and the Falcon has 420A.

I have heard that the wear numbers differ between companys. You cant always believe they are comparing these numbers to the same standard.

My biggest question is which tire will last the longest, without giving up any preformance/handling ? I do not want to get a tire that looses grip cause it is too hard. But I also dont want to get replacement tires that only last me 20000 miles (like the stock tires- 260A wear rating).

Anyone have any expreience with the 2 different tires?

Thanks !

i have the michelin pilots on mine and i beleive there tread rating is 420. they don't hook up at all, at least with me they don't. they was ok when i first got my truck but after i started to mod it they would not hook up at all. i am going to get the nitto 450's next. they will wear quicker but should hook up quite a bit better.

I only have 19000 miles on it and im just passing the wear marker on the original tires. I don't burn it much at all, but I do love taking high speed turns...8-)

I've ran the Falkens. Long lasting tire even with lots of tire spinning. Not as good on traction, but better than the RSA's were. I've never ran the Nitto's. Some of the tires I have ran and my thoughts on them.

BFG Scorchers<-stock size awsome looking tire. Lots of compliments. Good traction wet and dry on the street, turn to grease at the track **expensive

BFG G-Force KDWS<-255/50/17 1" shorter than stock. Gives you about a 3.98 gear ratio. Awsome dry traction. really good in the rain, and real good in the snow for a performance tire. Best handling tire I've used on my R/T.
about $135 each

Pirelli Scorpion Zero S/T<-275/55/17 1" taller than stock. Give you about a 3.85 gear ratio. Real good dry traction as long as you are going straight. Sidewalls rolled over to easily in corners, might have been form being 1" taller and my running low presure for traction. Real good in the rain. Never hydroplaned once. Never trid in snow. about $160 each

Falken Zeix S/TZ-01<-decent dry traction, great in the rain. Harder rubber than most. Will spin easier than the other tires I've tried. Good handling. Better in corners than the Pirellis. Did decent in the snow. Had them on my truck for 6 months before going to a softer rubber compund. Had about 15K miles on them and still have over 1/2 tread left. I paid $132 each

Kumho ECSTA 711<-stock size. Real good dry traction. real good wet traction. Good in the corners. They let you know when they are going to break loose. Probably the second best tire I've used next to the G-Forces. Cheapest tire I've used as well. First two cost me $88 each. Second two cost me $105 each.

man, you've went through some sets of tires

I have the BFG G-Force KDWS and recommend them. Nice traction, nice look and decent wear. They have 400 treadwear i believe.
