Subject: Torque Converter going bad??? IP: Logged
Message: How can one tell if a torque converter is going out? A buddy of mine thinks his might be on his '99 R/T. I couldn't tell him since I've always owned 5-speeds. He said it sometimes clunks when putting it into reverse or drive. Any info or things to look for would be greatly appreciated!

Message: A clunk doesn't mean it's the torque convertor alone. You could just have a bad U-Joint, or a tranny that needs a little adjustment.

Message: If it is the converter I'll sell you my stock one out of my '01 R/T had about 8,000 miles on it.

Message: Check pan for metalic and abrasive particle. If he has a cooler check it as well as debri tends to build up there.
