Subject: 360 Swap IP: Logged
Message: I currently have a 3.9L V-6 In my 96 Dakota. I'm looking for literature on doing an engine swap. From A to Z... Any where from Rough cost, Application, Fabrication, and all the other little mods that need to be done. Any help or lead to help will be very appreciated. post or e-mail at CHICKS_LIKE_IT@yahoo.com

Message: Swapping the engine is just 1/2 the job. You'll need the front springs to handle the extra weight of the V8, PCM, transmission/driveline (the AX-15 was never designed to handle a V8) and you'll need to change the driveshaft if you change out the transmission (they're different lengths).
V8 to V8 is much easier.
Seriously Drew, you can make the same amount of power and be quicker than a V8 with the V6.
