Hey yall, i had previously posted this on the performance board, but since this new board has been set up, i reposted it. Yeah, me and my bud have a dakota that hit approx 139 mph, according to a autometer speed guage. It felt amazing going that fast in a truck. We kicked these speeds on a straightaway on 390s in new york. The truck we run has had the motor completely rebuilt. The tranny has been professionally modified with new gears. The rear is running 3.56. We are also running the norms like headers, a supersharger, true dual exhaust, posi etc. Its been really FUN!

Sorry to say but we gotcha beat. Fastest we've had mine going is 148. No supercharger but a 175 shot of juice to an AWD 1992 318.

I have a stock 4.7 cc 4x4 and I hit 130 mph!I had to back off 'cause it was still pulling hard,and I got a little scared!
"it" being my motorcycle........What? You think I was in my TRUCK? hahaa had ya goin'!!

kennungesser, how the ^*(^:) did you get your truck up that fast? Do you have a Perf PCM or flash? And how did you know how fast you were goin?
D'OH! Sorry just read below A few lines... yeah, you had me goin... :)
BTW, I would never try goin that fast in a truck without a different suspension and the appropriate speed rate tires and NUTs the size of oranges.

The autometer speedo is mounted on top of the dash by the pillar. It wouldn't fit in the gauge cluster.

i ran my old speedo sender to the autometer then i pulled out the whole gauge cluster and replaced it with a pic of the top fuel dakota

130 really isn't that fast, I've gone all the way to 117 with my truck, right before it shut down....It's a 4x4 4.7L Auto w/ 3.55 gears..it was only pulling something like 3500 rpms, it coulda gone way over 130, I had one of my state trooper buddies clock me to so I knew the speed was right...Don't worry this was late at night on an open and lonely strecth of I-80.....I woulda gone faster but I had the stock 31X10.50's and a speed limiter....

i have a friend who has a dodge full size with a v6 and it will hit 125 then shuts down and i got a nother friend who has a dodge dulley with the 5.9 and it will hit 120 and if been in both of them when they have done it

Ive hit about 105 MPH in my V6. Took me forever to inch up to that speed. Didn't much feel like pushing it any further though. Truck sounded like it was about to fall apart around me at the time. Heh.

i hit around 140 in jersey on 287 north. i have the mopar pcm and it was so smooth. it didn't take long to get there. we were crusin at like 65/70 and we came to a strait away with an incline, and i just hit it and like maybe a 1/4 mile or so i was well past 120 like my speedo says. we were going for like 2 miles and it was like nothing. what a rush. kinda like running 1/4 runs at the track.

My truck pulls really hard up to about 120, but then with my Mickey T tires it floats like a boat on water (i know call me stupid, but i had to try, lots of open highways up here in N. Idaho and Washinton). It probably would have kept going, but i figured i should back off. :) Oh yeah, did i mention i have a Kenne Bell Supercharger? Hehehehehehehe.

Only about 117 on I-75 in Tampa...damn speed limiter. Anyone know about a release date for a PCM for a 1999, 318, 5spd? My old 93 with a V-6 hit about 140 on snow tires...Spooky!!!

Hey this is my first post, but I thisnk its kinda funny......I have a 2001 R/T and have never had it above 100, but it gets there pretty quick. But 130 is pretty slow in the grand scheme of speed, its also very foolish on public roads in a 4000 lb truck with little tiny front disc brakes. Try 160+ on the front straight at Laguna on my CBR 929.. hehe now thats fast.
