i have a 1947 chevy truck with a big block v-8, k&n fliter, intake, exhaust, and supercharger. That baby flies down the strip at 178-180. I too have a gt mustang that i have got around 140.

I'm not one to brag, but I was in a jet liner once that went faster than all those things! On top of that it went really high and made everything below look teeny tiny! But then I turned 12 and stopped being so impressed with the speed thing. On the upside I still think the teeny tiny ground stuff is cool!

On a more silly note, my tonneau cover blew off at 125 mph. Then a semi hit it. i didn't even pull over. Now I need $350 for a new on. Oh well. I guess speed kills (your tonneau cover).

That is too bad..... I've already tried it at 80 mph, so I'm almost there. Only 40 more mph to go.
But it didnt' blow. Just delaminated. It got wiggly, but since I was a pretty good driver I didn't do much more than let off the gas and downshift to 4th and let it slow as quickly as possible. Once I got to about 35 or so, I was on the shoulder and stopped just fine. Didn't even nick the rim. Whew.
