Message: ok, thanks. everywhere i look i can't find anything on it but they probably figure someone who is buying performance tires is not worried about load ratings.

Message: matt if you hit a curb with your tires do the rims rub on the curb? im looking for a wider tire to protect my rims...obviously the best way to protect them would not hit the curb but accidents happen...

Message: I'd say that the 275/50's offer little if any greater rim protection over the stock tires.
With either tire, it's not going to take much of a rub before your rim hits the curb. The side walls are so short it just won't allow for a "bulge" in the sidewall that would protect you.
@ $125 per wheel, if I did rub a curb, I would'nt feel too bad, could have been a lot worse dollar wise. It's almost impossible to find any rim for $125.

Message: Most tires people put on the R/T's cost more than the rims. BlueCC, check out the Kumho ECSTA 711 if you can find them. They stick out a little around the lip of the rim to help protect it kinda like the Nitto's do. The rubber actually hangs past the lip of the rim unlike the stock RSA's. And the Kumho's can be bought for $105 each. If you can't find them let me know and I will tell you were you can.

Message: I run the 255/50/17's nitto 450's on my truck. They are rated at 45psi which is great in the front, but if you have 45psi in the rear tires, they will just spin all day long. I dropped the rears to about 20-25 psi, and they grip great..
