 Subject: 1998 5.2 injector issues

I have a 1998 Dakota 5.2L 117,000 miles (I know,
that's low. I'm only owner, bought brand new). I
developed an intermittent idle miss that kicks on
the engine light. Code is P0301. I know it's
cylinder #1. Did a complete tune up, dry & wet
compression test, and it didn't help a bit. I
pulled the #1 injector, cleaned it best I could
and reinstalled. It ran better and no light coming
on, but still has a miss only smaller. I bought
new injectors. I found 2 sites that said the OEM
injectors are sfr #24. So I got #24 bosch 4 hole
injectors. Now it runs worse. It hesitates and
stalls at light/stop signs. I'm ready to put old
injectors back in. Can someone tell me what is
going on with these injectors? Any help or
suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gary
