Subject: Driveshaft fell off IP: Logged
Message: I was driving down the road and my driveshaft fell off. So far
the only damage I know if is the pinion shaft (I think that’s what
it’s called) is bent. Is it possible to bend it back or fix it without
opening up a can worms. Or will I need a new differential.

pretty weird to see it happened to someone else
not even a week ago.

Message: I'm interested to know what the outcome of both
your situations were my rear drive shaft fell
out of my 2001 Dakota SLT 4.7 v8 automatic got
it put back together to the best of my ability
but since replacing the transfer case and
bulking the drive shaft back into my rear
differential I seem to have odd sounds coming
from my rear end and what I think seems to be
loss of power or maybe the drive shaft and get
back on right. I say this because I used to be
able to burn the tires off no problem power
braking but now all it does is just bog out.
