Message: rebuild it with a B&M shift kit. i havent had any problems with mine, and it hits solid every time.(knock on wood!) the shift kit helps stop the slippage of the plates and reduces the wear on them making your tranny live longer and stronger!

Message: (JEFF) What do you mean by "grinds"??
Are you saying that while in gear...there is a 'whining' sound?
-OR-
Are you refering to "gear clash" when shifting?
If you are speaking of the "gear clash", This is often caused by the syncronizers not having enough 'friction' to do their job adequately. The
syncronizers can be 'felt' while shifting as the slight 'hesitation' just before slipping into gear during a shift. They are supposed to make the dogs on the gears spin the same speed (syncronize) and slip into gear smoothly
I can tell you that using REDLINE MTF really made a noticable difference with my NV3500 transmission.

Message: It's better just to buy a new one from a aftermarket transmission dealer than to rebuild it. I know from experince.
