Subject: ABS & Brake Light On IP: Logged
Message: Hi all,
My ABS and Brake lights periodically come on, they stay on for a while until I hear a small clunk from the rear and the lights turn off. As far as I can tell, there are no other symptoms that I've read about in the forum.
Anyone have an idea of what it could be?

Message: ABS and Brake lights On, I have already changed
the rear sensor and the issue is still the same. I
turn on the truck and it runs through all the
lights and the ABS and Brake lights will go off,
then come right back on a second later after they
go off.

Message: Since there was no reply until now, I've since taken my truck into my mechanic. The truck needed a complete brake overhaul. Front calipers, right boot & pad, rear cylinders, drums & shoes. Was most likely going to cost me around $2,000 for them to repair. Parts were only about $800.
The light coming on was because the drums were worn enough that there was slop inside and the parking brake wasn't fully disengaging until it was jostled just right.
