Subject: TPS Sensor??????? IP: Logged
Message: I was just on the speedtweaks website. I looked at the TPS adjustment page. Does a 91 5.2 have a tps sensor? and if so, would this be possible, and helpful to set the voltage higher?
Thanks

Message: I think all computer controlled motors have a TPS... of throttle posistion sensor. If it does have one it is going to be a sensor that is connected to the throttle shaft in the throttle body or to throttle linkage near the throttle body.
I recently read the same post on speak tweaks and adjusted the one in my '02 4.7. The voltage reading on it was around 0.4 volts. The best I could get it up to was 0.7 volts. It really did make a noticable difference in the throttle response. Now, instead of hesitating when I step on the gas... as it looks for gears, the rpm's slowly increase as it looks for gears.
I don't know if the voltage would be the same on the '91, if it has a TPS. It is what voltage the computer is calibrated to read as "idle."

Message: I might be mistaken, but the "Magnum" engines (92 and up) are the ones with the TPS. I think Speedtweaks DIY tells you this, but I'll check real fast.
